Is it a *true* panic attack (you fear death, think you're having a heart attack, can't breathe, etc.) or are you just getting antsy/dizzy/nervous? Real panic attacks should be treated by a psychiatrist (drug therapy) or a psychologist (talk therapy). They're fairly common in pregnancy, and treatments ARE available. I had panic attacks for about the last 18 months, and they stopped (Thank God!) when I became pregnant. You shoudl call your family doctor and get a referral to a specialist if you're having real panic attacks and not just bouts of anxiety/nervousness.

I suffer from anxiety everyday. but when I was pregnant, it was the worse. Try to take some deep breaths. If you are around people, try to go somewhere for a little while and be by yourself or take a hot bath. Another thing you can do is try to keep yourself distracted or talk to somebody on the phone. Maybe the father can rub your back if he is around. Everyone goes through different moods when they are pregnant. Just try to deal with them the best way you can. There are some articles online about what you can do. Try to look them up in your search engine. There are also articles about what the father can do to help. Hope this helps you!

panic and anxiety are commonly linked to hormonal problems surges and we all know in pregnancy our hormones are all over the place.

pregnancy is also a streesful time with us mothers wondering what the future will hold for us so it could be that also.

go and see you midwife as im sure she will be able to give you some good advice
